We focus on transforming socially and economically disadvantaged communities through the love and power of Jesus Christ. This experience builds relationships in the South Hampton Roads area through various activities such as Bible School and Sports/Reading Camps.
A week at SHRMP is exciting, fun, engaging, and challenging for students. For leaders and adults, it is an opportunity to discover different tools to take home that can help in areas such as church revitalization, evangelism, and church planting strategies.
SHRMP exists to share the Good News of Jesus with kids and families. Our partners carry Vacation Bible School events into socially and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods in South Hampton Roads. We sing, teach, play, and love–all so our neighbors can know Him.
Every moment at SHRMP camp is intentional. Camp programming is designed to take students out of their comfort zones and place them into an environment focused on life-change through a relationship with Christ. It is putting into practice what they have been taught all year long in your ministries.

All participants must adhere to our dress code, drugs and tobacco policies, as well as our camp rules. Any participants under 18 years of age must have an adult church ministry representative in order to attend SHRMP.

The South Hampton Roads Mission Project (SHRMP) had a vision for reaching the people of the South Hampton Roads area with the gospel, but soon realized this vision could be used as an evangelism tool for other churches within their communities. In 2009, the South Hampton Roads Mission Project began working closely with other churches, within the State of Virginia, in an effort to facilitate its vision for expansion to new sites. SHRMP provides a framework for the operation of a weeklong backyard Bible program that fits nicely with those looking to learn how to reach their own communities.
Visiting churches benefit from the training and program development that can easily be adjusted, as an evangelism tool, and duplicated in their communities as an outreach mission effort. It has been a successful and fruitful relationship for over a decade and just one example of a proven strategy to reach the local community.
The Church Partnership is a joint venture whereby the local church and the South Hampton Roads Mission Project (SHRMP) combine their strengths to reach and connect students to a local church. Here is what each of us brings to Christ as we serve Him in building His kingdom.
